TAV to open the Tbilisi International Airport, a 90,5 Million USD investment, on February 7 Having set off with a goal of “10 Airports in 10 years” in the world civil aviation industry, TAV Airports Holding will open the Tbilisi International Airport, a 100 Million USD investment, on Wednesday February 7. TAV will carry the honour of being the first ever Turkish company to not only build but also operate an airport in the international arena with the opening of the Tbilisi International Airport where Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev will be attending. The Tbilisi International Airport, having reached a 2.8 million annual passenger capacity with the new terminal building will be operated by TAV for the next 20 years. The Tbilisi International Airport is a product of a contemporary and functional design, boasting high technology. The airport, designed to provide the optimum flow of both passengers and luggage from the parking lot to the planes with a 25,000 square meter total usable area has the ability and flexibility to easily facilitate future expansions without interrupting terminal operations. It has been fitted with high-tech contemporary systems, keeping passenger convenience and efficiency of the terminal operations in mind, throughout functional spaces organized in an elegant manner. The Food and Beverage operations at the Tbilisi International Airport will be carried out by BTA at 7 points with a staff of 75, while ATU will provide Duty Free services at the four stores it is planning to open.
