TAV

TAV was founded as a joint venture between Tepe and Akfen groups in 1997, after the Build-Operate-Transfer tender for the Istanbul Atatürk Airport International Terminal was awarded. TAV Airports Holding is fast on its way to becoming a global company with new projects and stronger financial structure; and it aims at becoming a regional strength in the priority regions such as North Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

TAV is carrying out its activities in five countries, and in the fourth quarter of 2006, it was re-structured as TAV Investment Holding, with over 11,000 employees. TAV has become an international brand with its growing business volume and its accomplishments abroad, and the interest of foreign investors keeps increasing. In line with the growth strategies of TAV, in 2006, leading investment bank, Goldman Sachs International of USA, fund manager Austrian Babcock&Brown, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Infrastructure Fund (EMP), Global Investment House (GIH) are now strategic partners of TAV Airports Holding. 

TAV Investment Holding separated its “operation” and “construction” services as “TAV Airports Holding” and “TAV Construction”, and with the strength it acquires from its employees, it continues with its accomplishments. 


TAV AIRPORTS HOLDING COMPANIES
TAV ISTANBUL

Turkey’s gateway to the world, The Atatürk Airport bears the signature of TAV. Working on a build-operate-transfer basis, the TAV Consortium completed the construction of the new International Terminal in the Istanbul Atatürk Airport in January 2000 in a record 22 months and started operating it. With additional facilities becoming operational in 2004, the annual passenger capacity rose from 14 million to 20 million. As of June 2005, TAV undertook the operation of the Atatürk Airport Domestic Terminal. The Domestic Terminal extends to a total area of 62,500 square meters, and is modernized in such a way to serve 7.5 million passengers per year on average. The total project cost reached 400 million USD.


TAV İZMİR

TAV Airports Holding opened the İzmir Adnan Menderes International Airport Terminal on September 13, 2006; 8 months prior to the promised date, which was May 2007. Conveying its experience in airport operations to Izmir, TAV will contribute to Izmir’s tourism potential with a new and modern airport with greater capacity.


TAV ANATOLIA

TAV Airports Holding completed the Ankara Esenboğa Airport Domestic ve International Terminal one year prior to the undertaken date, and opened it for service on October 16, 2006. Modern in every aspect, the Esenboğa Airport Domestic and International Terminal passenger capacity increased from 2 million to 10 million.


TAV GEORGIA

Projected to serve as an air transport bridge between Europe and the Far East in the future, capital Tbilisi entrusted both the operation of its existing international airport and the construction and operation of the new international airport to the TAV Airports Holding. Tbilisi International Airport will be opened for service on February 7, 2007. The Batumi International Airport is expected to be opened in the first half of 2007.


HAVAŞ

In July 2005, TAV acquired 60% of the stock of HAVAŞ, Turkey’s first ground handling services company that enjoyed a significant status in the sector. Organized in such a way as to meet all the requirements that airlines may have in terms of ground handling services at airports they fly to, HAVAŞ mainly provides services in passenger and luggage handling, loading vehicles inspection, ramps, aircraft cleaning, load inspection, communication, cargo, flight operations, haulage, representation, and surveillance.


BTA

The food and beverage services in the International Terminal in Atatürk Airport are performed by BTA, another TAV subsidiary. Established in 1999 as a partnership among the Bilintur, Tepe, and Akfen groups, BTA offers a richly varied menu featuring tastes from world cuisines. Serving round the clock in a total of 100 cafés, bars, and restaurants, with an area of 18.250 square meters, BTA is successfully operating the Istanbul International Airport Hotel in the International Terminal in Atatürk Airport since 22 May 2004.


ATÜ

Offering duty free services in the International Terminal in Atatürk Airport, ATÜ (Tepe - Akfen - Unifree) operates a total of 24 different stores in the arrival and departure terminals making thousands of products in the world’s best-known brands available to passengers in world class standards.


TAV OPERATION SERVICES

TAV Operation Services have undertaken the management of commercial projects, other than the aviation revenues, at the Istanbul Atatürk Airport Domestic and International Terminals, Ankara Esenboğa Airport Domestic and International Terminals, İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal and Tbilisi Airport. The main services of the company can be listed as Allocation of Commercial Areas, Marketing of Advertising Areas, Valet Parking Services, Baggage Wrapping Services, HAVAŞ Shuttle Bus Operations, “primeclass”-CIP, HAVAŞ Tourism and Travel Agency, and the GATE Magazine.


TAV IT

The objective of TAV Information Technologies Co. is to develop new and integrated software programs and systems, and to create “Aviation Solutions” in the global and local sense. TAV Information Technologies Co. will develop software and systems on operational and financial optimisation in aviation, particularly Terminal, Flight Management System and Software Programs; and aims to be one of the few companies in the world that can find solutions, and undertake turnkey, integrated airport systems design, construction and operation tasks. The integrated airport systems that have been developed are currently used in Atatürk, Esenboğa, Adnan Menderes and Tbilisi; and they will be commissioned in February at the Sabiha Gökçen Airport.


TAV Security

TAV Security operates at the Atatürk Airport Domestic and International Terminal, Esenboğa Airport International Terminal and Adnan Menderes Airport International Terminal, at all the control points and parking lots together with the Police Forces.
