TAV Georgia will spend more than 24 million GEL on planned internal infrastructural works at departure terminal and equipment renewal this year

Mariam Kvrivishvili - deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Irakli Karkashadze – the Director of the United Airports of Georgia visited Tbilisi International Airport today.

Tea Zakaradze the general manager of TAV Georgia – the managing company of Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports talked about the works that are planned this year. Among them are the renovation of the carpets in the passenger bridges and the internal reconstruction works of the departure terminal. The main purpose of the planned works is increasing the capacity of the passenger flow, reducing the queues at the border crossing point and creating more comfort for the passengers.

In addition, a completely new Duty Free will be built, also the prime class hall will be expanded and reconstructed.

Mariam Kvrivishvili also inspected the new equipment of the airdrome and aircraft ground handling and the equipment of the fire-rescue service. The airport operator company serves the aircrafts with 150 units various types of equipment, which it updates every year.

This year, the company will spend more than 24 million GEL on planned internal infrastructural works and equipment renewal.

The deputy minister and the general manager of TAV Georgia also talked about preparations for the summer navigation season. The importance of completing the planned infrastructural works in a short period of time was underlined in order to avoid any delays during the summer season.
